Lead singer Dan McCaffrey and lead guitarist Nick Riviezzo have been making music together since high school. Through many years and different group members, they developed SWIM’s signature rock/pop sound. Late spring 2014 saw the official formation of the band SWIM, along with the composition of many of SWIM’s earliest original songs, including “Natural Feeling”. With these songs, the band focused on creating a classic pop sound with a foundation in alternative rock. In the summer of 2014, SWIM found what it was missing in bassist Tyler Aigotti and drummer Brian D’Angio, with the absorption of these two new members, SWIM’s activity accelerated . During this time, SWIM played shows across Long Island. The fall of 2015 saw the release of SWIM’s debut, self-titled EP. Acclaimed by fans, the record featured five of the group’s earliest songs. Following Iaquinta’s and Aigotti’s departure from the group, multi-talented Patrick Morelli, pianist and bassist, joined the group in late 2015, solidifying the band’s transformation into an alternative, indie rock hybrid and a true powerhouse, united by a conglomerate of mutual influences and general desire to derive new material from a rock influence focused on distinctive riffs and pop-style choruses. Released in July 2017, SWIM's sophomore release "Finally, Someone" provides a more mature sound, marked with guitar hooks and continuing grooves. This album blends classic rock with modern pop creating the infectious rock/pop that SWIM is known for.
