My mother, my father, old friends and faces from the shadows of the past – each one of them in countless dreams scratch this mark into walls or facades, the same tortured hieroglyphs that I myself now scour down. And, each day, as the grit makes a mirage of my failing vision goggles and the rock vegetation grumbles in my gut, I visit this place, my hieroglyph, given to me in my dreams, and I wait without knowing why.
