As awesome as Far Away Day is, it is even more striking when you listen to other collections such as, "Destiny", and "Turning Night Into Day", as well as "Always." Nelson Rangell is by far the greatest saxophone player no one has ever heard of. But every album just gets better and better. He has a range and a versatility that is unmatched. He playes alto, tenor and soprano saxophone in addition to the flute and blends them together seemlessly. He changes tempo and inflection with ease, powering a song to conclusion one moment and lying quietly under the surface on the next. Anyone who has not experienced nelson Rangell is depriving themselves of a true pleasure. His technical ability is unmatched, but his songs just weave you in.
