A rare visitor to the concert hall in Salzburg. Keilberth was appearing at the helm of an orchestra new to the Festival. Predictably, their Schubert and Bruckner was inspirational. More surprisingly, their Berg, too, with the young Christian Ferras, proved revelatory.
