Arjun Malhotra (born JUNE 9, 1994), known professionally as Dektrex, is an Indian electronic dance music producer, DJ, singer, and songwriter. Growing up in Jammu And Kashmir in India, Arjun joined YouTube and SoundCloud as a mean to post his work over the World Wide Web, Arjun was born in Jammu located in J&K, India. At the ages of 9 and 10, He attended a local school located in Jammu. His father was a carpenter and his mother was a homemaker. By the time he was 12,his family moved back to his birthplace. There he enrolled in a private academy school specializing in arts. Arjun has cited Skrillex as early influences on him. He has stated in an online interview that he has been a longtime fan of Owsla, an electronic music label that has released recordings from artists such as Skrillex and Marshmellow. In an interview , he said he first was exposed to electronic dance music after listening to skrillex's song My name is skrillex.
