‘Til death do us part: TWIN TEMPLE is a Goth-Soul band fronted by newlyweds Alexandra James and Zachary James, and backed by a tight-knit group of Los Angeles musicians and long-time collaborators Robin Ryder (drums) Aaron Orbit (bass) and Jeffrey Howell (piano/organ). The duo’s songwriting puts a fresh spin on a dark legacy of classic American music: from the burlesque horror and funeral Voodoo of New Orleans, to the haunting sounds of Delta blues murder ballads, to the noir-jazz of smoky Prohibition speakeasies. Think if Dracula and his bride shared an affinity for the history of American music, and decided to start a band. Their debut single "Girl Trouble" features trumpet player & arranger Todd Simon (Solange Knowles, Kelis, Macy Grey, Janelle Monae), also a former member of Daptone Records’ backing group, the Dap-Kings, who skyrocketed to fame with their work on Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black. The single also enlists Daptone Records affiliate and baritone saxophonist Jared Tankel (Budos Band, Charles Bradley).
