Don Quixote by Ludwig Minkus. Piano score performed by Nina Miller. Tempos for the recordings were perfected by ballet dancer, Caitlin Hopwood.
This album includes all variations and pas de deux from the original piano score of Don Quixote and is ideal for ballet rehearsal, performance and competition. A few of the pieces are presented with a variety of entrances, tempos and lengths.
Nina Miller is a graduate of the Modest Mussorgsky Music College and the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St. Petersburg and has performed internationally in Russia, Finland, Portugal, Italy, Japan and USA. She has worked as a Ballet Pianist since 1996 in ballet companies around the world including the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia; R-Studio and the New Tokyo National Theater in Tokyo, Japan; and Ballet Society of Colorado Springs and Zamuel Ballet School in the USA.
Caitlin Hopwood began her dance studies at Ballet Society of Colorado Springs in Colorado and continued there until completing her training at Canada's National Ballet School. Upon graduating from NBS, Caitlin danced professionally with Tulsa Ballet. While at Tulsa Ballet and NBS, Caitlin performed in many ballets including Swan Lake, La Sylphide, The Nutcracker, Balanchine's Serenade, as well as many contemporary works. Caitlin currently owns her own business, Ballerina Boutique, and teaches ballet in Colorado Springs. Caitlin enjoys offering her firsthand experience in the ballet world to her students and customers.
