Asylum has risen to become an internationally known artist over the past few years and continues to work hard and perfect his talent. After some unfortunate and depression experiences, Asylum began writing poetry at the adolescent age of 17. After having a friend read one of his poems, they began motivating him to pursue his writing as a musical expression. Now this American rapper is pushing the status quo and residing in Japan. By making his own beats, exploring the world and incorporating his real life experiences in his lyrics, Asylum has become a rare gem in the rap game of the 21t century. Asylum has been featured on Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes: The Indie Top 50 as well as #Makinmoves Mixtape Vol. 47, and even took 3rd place at the Gaikokujin Star Tanjo 2013 international competition in Japan. With more and more accomplishments being added to Asylum’s resume there is no doubt he is paving the way with his name in the cement.
