Of the songs on this CD, only 4 are pure Josh White vocal and solo guitar. The remainder feature him in trio and band settings. The songs are great, but it's not what most people would expect. A little more clarification on the label would go a long way in this case.The White solo efforts are the highlight of this offering. Uncle Sam Says and Bad Housing Blues are extremely progressive civil rights songs for the era.
